When the villainous Black Adam soars into cinemas December 2021, he’ll be joined by DC’s first super-team, the Justice Society of America. ComicBook.com recently interviewed Dwayne Johnson in promotion for the new Jumanji film, with co-star Kevin Hart lobbying for a role in Black Adam, asking to be the villain’s sidekick.
Johnson said Adam doesn’t have one, but did say “We’re also gonna introduce JSA in Black Adam. So in JSA maybe there’s a (role)… They have an animal, a pet.”
Created by Gardner Fox, Everett E. Hibbard and Sheldon Mayer, the team debuted in 1941, consisting of heroes like Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Flash (Jay Garrick), Sandman (Wesley Dodds), Wildcat (Ted Grant), Dr Fate (Kent Nelson), Hawkman (Carter Hall), Spectre (Jim Corrigan), Hourman (Rex Tyler) and the Atom (Al Pratt).
Though the JSA’s appeared in shows like Smallville and Legends of Tomorrow, this’ll be the first time they’ve appeared in a live action film.
Black Adam is directed by The Shallows helmer Jaume Collet-Sera and stars Dwayne Johnson as the titular super-villain.
Black Adam hits theaters December 22nd, 2021.
