Star Wars fans everywhere are officially in countdown mode with the final film in the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, less than a month away from hitting theaters.
Disney’s latest Star Wars film is easily the most anticipated film of the year and the Mickey Mouse company kicked that anticipation into high gear Monday morning by surprising fans with a brand new clip.
You can watch the clip below.
The thirty second clip features Rey, Chewbacca, C-3PO, Finn, Poe Dameron, and BB-8 on the run from Stormtroopers on a Tatooine-like planet. We can see in the clip that as with every Star Wars film before it, The Rise of Skywalker will introduce new Stormtroopers. The latest incarnation of the bad boys of the galaxy are rocking Boba Fett-like jetpacks and much to the surprise of our heroes, can fly now.
Led by director J.J. Abrams, The Rise of Skywalker is the final installment of the nine-part Skywalker saga which began in 1977. After more than 40 years the most legendary and beloved saga to ever hit the big screen is coming to a close.
Fans will have the pleasure of watching Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Adam Driver reprise their roles as Rey, Finn, Poe, and Kylo Ren, respectively, to pen the final chapter in what’s sure to be the film of the year.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens in theaters on December 20, 2019. Tickets are available for pre-order today.
