Star Wars fans received an early Christmas present from Disney Wednesday in the form of a press release that confirmed that Chapter 7 of The Mandalorian will include a special sneak peek at Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The release schedule for Season 1 of The Mandalorian had already revealed that Chapter 7 would break rank with the rest of the season’s episode and be the only episode not to release on a Friday. The obvious reason being that The Rise of Skywalker releases on Friday Dec. 20 and Disney doesn’t want to overlap the release of two of their biggest properties.
But a sneak peek?! No one expected such a special early Christmas present.
Deborah Chow, who directed the action packed third chapter of The Mandalorian, also directed the upcoming seventh chapter. The synopsis for Chapter 7 reads:
“An old rival extends an invitation for The Mandalorian to make peace.”
The eighth chapter and season finale of The Mandalorian will return to the normal Friday release schedule, debuting on Dec. 27. The series has already been green-lit for a second season, but there’s no word on cast, story details, or expected release date.
