Bad Robot developing ‘Justice League Dark’ TV/film projects

Are you afraid of the ‘Dark’…?

Though the bread and butter of DC is super heroics, there’s a whole other side that’s rarely explored in adaptations: the supernatural.

This could be set to change, as Deadline reports JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot studio is developing film and TV projects based on Justice League Dark, a series following a group of supernatural heroes. Over the years, this has included Constantine, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman, magician Zatanna and the ghostly Deadman. In 2012, Guillermo Del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) was set to write and direct a film based on the series, but left the project in 2015. Back in 2014, supernatural conman Constantine briefly had his own show, while elemental protector Swamp Thing had a short lived one last year.

Ben Stephenson (Head of Television) and Hannah Minghella (Head of Motion Pictures) will soon be having meetings with talent representatives and their writing clients to see which characters will get their own projects.

Justice League Dark #19 hits shelves next Wednesday.
