During Disney’s first quarter earning call this afternoon, CEO Bob Iger revealed that the second season of The Mandalorian will debut in October of this year on Disney+. (Skip to 37:57 if you want to hear it for yourself).
We still don’t have an exact date, but ‘October 2020’ is a lot more specific than ‘Fall 2020,’ so I’ll take it.
Iger went on to hint that characters which appear on the Mandalorian could end up having their own spinoff series on Disney+. Before you get too excited, however, remember that this is coming from a CEO talking up his company’s potential assets to investors.
Iger also revealed that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will debut in August (to tide us over) and WandaVision will debut in December. To be honest, I wasn’t terribly excited for either of these programs until the Super Bowl commercial. Now I’m pumped.
