Matt Reeves, director of the upcoming movie The Batman, tweeted a link to a Vimeo video dubbed “Camera Test” that gives us our first look at the movie — more specifically, its star Robert Pattinson in the Batman costume.
The video features a glimpse of Pattinson’s Batman suffused in red light, wielding a Bat-costume whose Bat-Symbol looks to be constructed from gunmetal and ominous, bad-ass music from the film’s composer Michael Giacchino. The brief look skillfully sets the ambiance of what Reeves has described in interviews as “very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale… It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films.”
The teaser has us hyped for The World’s Greatest Detective to come alive under Reeves’ vision on the big screen, although one burning question remains: what do the Bat-ears look like on this costume?
