Marvel Comics teases the X-Men in ‘Empyre” may be allying themselves with the enemy

Enemies are becoming allies and the X-Men appear to be making a deal.

In a bit of a surprise this Friday afternoon, Marvel Comics revealed a potential team-up is in order for the X-Men. The thing is, that team-up isn’t with the Avengers or any of the Marvel heroes, but with the Skrulls and the Kree. In the tweet, we see Cyclops is wielding the power of one of the Krakoan flowers. Might the mutants be working with the Skrulls and Kree by bartering their precious resource?

Check out the tweet below:

If the X-Men do become allies with these alien races–both of which are attacking Earth in Empyre–that will have huge ramifications on the X-Men and all mutants on Earth no matter how the Empyre event pans out and who wins the war.

Marvel has released a press release for the teaser which reads:

The return of the Celestial Messiah to the Blue Area of the Moon sets off a new chapter in the Kree/Skrull War—only this time, it’s a Kree/Skrull Alliance aimed directly at Earth, and only the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and  more of Earth’s heroes stand in their way…

This comes along with a hi-res look at the art by David Nakayam:
