Netflix and The Pokémon International Company jointly announced that upcoming seasons of the popular Pokémon animated series will exclusively premiere on the streaming service in the U.S.. Their collaboration begins on June 12 with the launch of the 23rd season’s first twelve episodes. Additional new episodes of Pokémon Journeys: The Series will be added quarterly for the rest of the season.
The show follows Ash Ketchum and Pikachu as they travel across the different regions of their world to experience new adventures and cross paths with new characters. This time as an official research fellow for Professor Cerise. Ash is joined by Goh, a boy with endless curiosity, and the two set out to uncover the mysteries of the Pokémon.
An international trailer was released that you can watch below. The upcoming season will feature an all new theme song from the band, Walk Off the Earth. While you wait for the season 23 premiere, catch up on a wide selection of past Pokémon seasons on Netflix.
