In an exclusive report today from Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter, it was revealed that Stephen King’s 2014 novel Revival will be adapted into a film for Warner Bros.
According to Kit’s report, the film will be scripted (and potentially directed) by Mike Flanagan, who also did the same for 2019’s Stephen King movie adaptation of Doctor Sleep. Trevor Macy would be attached to produced via Intrepid Pictures.
The novel revolves around a drug-addicted guitarist and how his life was changed by a preacher who became obsessed with finding a way to communicated with his deceased wife and child after a tragic accident. Since this is a Stephen King novel, you can probably guess that things don’t go as planned and take a horrific turn for the worse.

Revival also has some major Lovecraftian elements to it, which is one of many reasons that the book ranks as one of my all-time favorite works by King. Hopefully Flanagan and Macy can successfully translate the deliciously terrifying source material to the big screen.
