Ubisoft announces digital showcase event for July

The company promises exclusive new games, reveals, and more.

Following the cancellation of E3 2020 in March due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, video game publisher Ubisoft announced that they would hold their own “digital experience” later in the year to showcase what they had prepared for E3. We now know what the company’s plans are.

On Twitter today Unbisoft announced “Ubisoft Forward” an upcoming digital summer showcase that will take place in two months on July 12 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET.  The company promises fans a first look at “exclusive game news, reveals and more.” This is Ubisoft’s first such digital event of this kind.

Nintendo has been hosting digital events like this for some time with their popular Nintendo Direct video presentations. Recently, Microsoft announced Xbox 20/20, a new program that delivers monthly updates, via Inside Xbox, showcasing what’s next for Xbox Series X, Xbox Games Studios, Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud.

As for what fans should expect to see, it isn’t exactly hard to speculate. The recently announced Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is sure to take center stage, especially after fans were rather vocal regarding their disappointment at the game’s showing during Microsoft’s recent Inside Xbox presentation. We should also expect updates on Watch Dogs: Legion, Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Roller Champions.

Lastly, there’s been rumors floating for some time now that Ubisoft has an announced game in development, so a surprise announcement could be incoming.
