DC Universe has seen a 35% growth in readership for the month of April. Likely this is due to the COVID-19 pandemic stopping new comic releases and inspiring readers to jump to digital platforms to get their comic book fix. In the press release below, DC Universe also reports Batman: The Curse of the White Knight #1 was the most-read comic for the month and with the addition of the first issue of this newer series added DC Universe now sports over 23,000 comic books.

The ever-expanding library on DC UNIVERSE, the ultimate digital subscription service for DC fans,  will reach new heights when it adds its 23,000th comic book on Tuesday, May 12 following the latest addition of new titles to the service.

And with an amazing amount of new and vintage comic books to choose from, DC fans are reading more than ever. In fact, readership between the months of February and April 2020 has increased a whopping 35%, with over 18 million comics read on DC UNIVERSE since the service first launched in September 2018.

The two most-read books for the month of April were WHITE KNIGHT #1 and THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS #1. From writer and artist Sean Murphy, WHITE KNIGHT #1 is the first installment in the seven-issue miniseries that presents an alternative vision of Gotham in which the Joker, cured of his insanity and homicidal tendencies, sets about trying to right his wrongs. Meanwhile THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS #1 is the debut issue of the series from writer Scott Snyder and artist Jock which follows the most frightful member of the Dark Knights – the hybrid of Batman and his arch enemy The Joker.
