The Muppets are a beloved group of artists, filmmakers, celebrities, and wackos and they’re coming back in an all-new original series on Disney+. The series is titled Muppets Now and was announced via Twitter early Wednesday morning.

Available to stream July 31st, the six-episode season is being touted as an “unscripted” show and follows Scooter who is attempting to upload the new Muppets show for streaming. How meta. The series is all about Scooter’s task of navigating obstacles from the Muppets cast.

In a press release sent by Disney+ the Muppets Now is described as follows:
Overflowing with spontaneous lunacy, surprising guest stars and more frogs, pigs, bears (and whatevers) than legally allowed, the Muppets cut loose in “Muppets Now” with the kind of startling silliness and heartfelt fun that first made them famous.

Given Disney acquired the Muppets–and you can watch some of their iconic films right now on the streaming service–it’s no huge surprise they’d dabble in a new Muppets show. That said, it was only four short years ago the latest attempt at creating a Muppets show was canceled by ABC.
