If you like The Last God you have more reason to slap a smile on your face as the world expands this September with a new one-shot tale. Just last week we got the Sourcebook from Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Dan Telfer (read the AIPT interview here) and today, DC Comics has revealed Dan Watters and Steve Beach are collaborating on a new one-shot spotlighting Queen Cyanthe. Titled The Last God: Songs of Lost Children #1, the series is set a decade after the infamous battle of the Black Stair. Fantasy fans got to read the full synopsis below.
An incognito Queen Cyanthe and her handmaiden embark on a journey to the poverty-stricken villages outside Tyrgolad. When faced with stories of disappearing children and a real-life encounter with a great and ancient monster, Cyanthe realizes that tales of lurking monsters are anything but folklore and must return to her warrior roots to slay this new and ghastly threat. Special guest writer Dan Watters (Lucifer, Coffin Bound) and artist Steve Beach (The Last God: Tales from the Book of Ages) join the world of the Last God for this tale from the age of Tyrgolad.
The one-shot will release in comic shops Tuesday, September 22, 2020, and will fly under the DC Black Label banner with a 17+ age rating.
