AIPT Comics Podcast Episode 79: Our favorite webcomics and what makes the format so great

The comics podcast talk webcomics, why they’re good, and pick their favorites.

This week on the comics podcast, we devote a segment to webcomics. Why does it work so well and what are our favorites? Some of our favorites include Poorly Drawn Lines, Three Word Phrase, Oglaf, and Kill Six Billion Demons.

Before we dive into that segment we break down the news! The top news of the week is that Steve Geppi announced he is reassuming the role of president for his enterprise, while also Diamond Comic Distributors has been found to charge comic shops increased shipping rates. What does this mean for the industry when every comics publisher aside from DC Comics uses Diamond?

Other news from around the industry reveals 21 Empyre Tie-ins are no more, Scott Lobdell announced he’s stepping away from Red Hood, while others share Geoff Johns, Joss Whedon, Jim Lee experiences. Gear up for a Judge Dredd live experience in the UK for the spring 2021. We’re excited.

Marvel Comics has big news revealing the Mandalorian comics are on the wayDisney+ adds “A look inside the 616” to comic-con@home lineup, and Alien and Predator comics head to Marvel in 2021. Finally, a Hamilton comic was once on the way!
