‘The Boys’ Season 2 trailer released

Butcher and his crew may be on the run, but they still have work to do

Following a cast reunion show last month, Amazon Prime released the first trailer today for Season 2 of The Boys.

Set to Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire“, the 90 second teaser provides us with some quick glimpses of what looks to be an even more action-packed and emotionally charged second chapter. While we don’t learn the immediate fallout from Season 1’s cliffhanger (except for one thing we’ll discuss in a bit), we do see that Butcher and his crew are wanted and on the run. Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to have diminished their desire to kick some capes asses.

Warning: Even though this is a trailer, there’s still quite a bit of swearing and gore…which is pretty much par when it comes to ‘The Boys.’

Now as far as last year’s cliffhanger is concerned, it doesn’t appear that Butcher and Homelander’s relationship has improved despite the former saving the latter from an explosion.

But what about Homelander’s son? Well, unless the following scene from the trailer (0:48) is a dream sequence or another kid, then it looks like America’s favorite superhero with mommy issues doesn’t like the idea sharing attention with Butcher’s ex, Becca.

The trailer also reveals that Annie/Starlight is still part of The Seven, Kevin/The Deep is still hanging around, and there will be at least one other super-powered character featured besides the previously revealed Stormfront.

The first three episodes of The Boys: Season 2 will premiere on September 4 exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. All eight episodes of the first season are available to stream now.
