Microsoft has announced that Rare and Dlala Studios’ Battletoads reboot will arrive on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One and PC players, via Windows 10 and Steam, on August 20, 2020. Xbox Game Pass members can pre-install the game on console or PC starting today.
The release date was revealed on Xbox Wire alongside a new trailer, which you can watch below.
It’s been 26 years since the last time Pimple, Rash, and Zitz last went on a Battletoads adventure together. Fans first got a glimpse of the new toads when Microsoft announced the new game at E3 2018, showing off a new hand-animated cartoonish art style.
The newest addition to the Battletoads franchise features couch co-op, which allows up to three players to drop in and out at will, and multiple difficulty settings that will “suit everyone from Tadpole to Battletoad.” There’s also new vehicles and for the first time ever, puzzles.
