Christopher Cantwell going to ask ‘Who is Iron Man’ in Iron Man #1 out September 16

Cantwell says Iron Man is “a man who thinks he’s a god and a god who wants to be a man.”

Marvel Comics has released a new interview with the upcoming Iron Man writer Christopher Cantwell who details what his approach will be with Iron Man. Out in September the series is going back to #1 and will feature artist Cafu. In the clip below he also discusses working with series artist Cafu and cover artist Alex Ross.

Cantwell also gives us tidbits about the series like that it will drop Iron Man into a new city and also use villain hardcore fans will notice if they’ve been digging through their long boxes.

“He’s a man who thinks he’s a god and a god who wants to be a man. That to me boils down the conflict of the character. Tony’s ego has always been a major problem for him in his life,” Cantwell told Marvel.com Host Angélique Roché. “The book really starts with Tony taking a look at himself: ‘Who am I really? Who is Iron Man? I want to be a hero again, what does that mean?’”
