In a special segment, Dave and Forrest pick the best comics of the year…so far! Plus our usual weekly recap of the news and best comics of the week.
Before we talk over the best comics of the year we recap the news. The biggest news of the week dropped on Monday when news surfaced Warner Bros. made massive layoffs that rocked the comics community. DC Comics released their November solicitations and key books are getting canceled or are wrapping up their runs like Teen Titans, Young Justice, Suicide Squad, Hawkman, and more. Also, DC Comics shrinks monthly line as Jim Lee addresses concerns.
Also in the news, the pandemic continues to strike at the community as NYCC is canceled, Valiant Entertainment is restructuring and X-O Manowar returning in November after a hiatus due to the pandemic.
In the good news department, Undone by Blood gets a second act, Sweet Tooth: The Return starts November 3, Doom Metal coming this September and it gets Dark Nights: Death Metal gets eXXXtreme in November. The Other History of the DC Universe gets re-announced, The Phoenix Force is coming, and finally, Marvel teases 5th path to X of Swords art, and also all the covers to X of Swords out in November.
