The COVID-19 pandemic might be grinding most of the economy to a halt, but it looks like Hasbro has no intention on slowing down on their Marvel Legends reveals.
Today during Hasbro Pulse’s Fan First Friday Monday Tuesday live stream, Hasbro team members Ryan Ting (Brand Marketing), Dwight Stall (Production Design), and Dan Yun (Brand Marketing) unveiled the next Venom wave for Marvel Legends along with some other cool news tidbits.
We’ll dive into the symbiotic shelf toppers first before going over the other interesting items that were discussed.
*Note to my editors: I may or may not have been pre-ordering these as I wrote the article. Don’t judge me.*
Movie Venom
FINALLY. While it’s a bit disappointing we didn’t get an alternate Tom Hardy head, it’s still nice to finally get this guy in the Marvel Legends line. There’s no BAF part in case you wanted to skip this figure, but why would you?
Available for pre-order now with an expected arrival in November.
Absolute Carnage
Hasbro has released a number of Carnage figures in its Marvel Legends line, but this one comes with improved articulation and a new sculpt with sinew texturing. Best of all, we get an alternate head from the ‘Absolute Carnage‘ storyline.
Available for pre-order now with an expected arrival in November.
Phage
We’re now just two more figures away from finishing the Life Foundation symbiotes!
Even if you have no idea what that means, Phage is a really cool looking character to add to your symbiote shelf–especially when you include that arm weapon attachment.
Available for pre-order now with an expected arrival in November (and selling out fast).
Midnight Sons Morbius
Congratulations took any hardcore ’90s Morbius fans, I guess. Hopefully someone will want to buy mine on eBay once I have the BAF part. All snark aside, it is a nice looking figure.
Available for pre-order now with an expected arrival in November.
Venomized Miles Morales & Gwenom Ghost Spider
We already saw these back at New York Toy Fair, but this pair of sweet looking figures are still worth a reposting a few glamour shots.
Available now for preorder (Miles and Gwen) with an expected arrival in November.
BAF Venompool
I had no idea how much I needed this character until I saw him. Despite not playing the video game he appears in, this gloriously chunky Build-A-Figure absolutely belongs on my shelf.
He also deserves some thanks from ’90s Morbius for making sure the grunge vampire will at least have a temporary home.
Silver Centurion Iron Man
The Walgreens exclusive figure will be available later this year.
New Haslab Tier: Tri-Sentinel Head
After smashing through all three of its previous stretch goals, the Haslab campaign to produce a Marvel Legends scale Sentinel has finally added the tier that might break me.
If the campaign can net 16,000 backers by its August 24 deadline, then every back will receive an alternate Tri-Sentinel head for their colossal mutant hunter. In addition to looking all types of cool, the Tri-Sentinel holds a special place in my heart for featuring in the first Spider-Man comic I ever bought. Standing in the grocery store checkout line that day, I had no idea what type of lifelong obsession I’d be starting (or that it was the second chapter of a two-part story).
But I digress…at the time of this article being written, the Marvel Legends Sentinel campaign is at a little under 14,500 backers and climbing, making the Tri-Sentinel head stretch goal a virtual certainty. Combine that with the Bastion figure, Master Mold head, tentacle, battle damaged alternate head, and the female prime sentinel figure, and that $349.99 price tag starts to look like a steal.
Teasers and Hints
The following hints were dropped about new characters that are slated to be revealed/released later this year:
- Marvel Legend that was in the old Toybiz line, but has never been made by Hasbro.
- Character who hasn’t appeared in the Marvel Legends line since 2014 and is getting a significant upgrade.
- Character who appeared in the Marvel 3.75 line (RIP), but has not been produced by Hasbro for Marvel Legends.
- Character who has never had an action figure before.
