The Legacy of the Bat panel took place today with a variety of creators and talent talking about Batman, Batwoman, and more. Joining Jim Lee, was Academy Award winning writer John Ridley who will be taking over a 4-issue Batman series in 2021, revealed there is a “Better than a 47% chance this Batman is a Person of Color.” The series will be drawn by Nick Derington with covers by Ladrönn.

Ridley also revealed the story will focus on the family of Lucious Fox. A largely unexplored element of Lucious Fox is his family, which is a family Ridley said, “has secrets, has kept secrets from one another.” Ridley went on to say this is a different dynamic than the Batman we’ve seen before.
The yet to be named Batman comic does not have a release date, but Ridley has a story in the upcoming Batman: The Joker War Zone #1.
