Sundance Film Festival set to go virtual January 2021

Coming online in 2021.

The Sundance Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film events of the year. It has been the site of some of the biggest debuts in cinema history and is something of a barometer for for film fans. Last year’s edition of the fest saw fans pack the streets of Park City.

This year, Sundance will be going online for the first time every A teaser trailer was released that highlights some of the most iconic films of discoveries from Sundance. It also announced the launch of the new online home for the fest.

A message from Festival director Tabitha Jackson read the following, “Welcome to the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. A new chapter filled with possibilities. Despite the challenges this year has brought, nothing could stop us from celebrating independent film, visionary artists, unique perspectives, and you, our adventurous audiences. So, for the first time ever, we are bringing the festival to you—both online and in the real world across the US and beyond.”

The Sundance Film Festival takes place from January 28, 2021 – February 3.
