Earlier today Si Spurrier revealed for the first time Reign of X and now Marvel Comics is getting in on the fun with the official announcement. While the announcement doesn’t say how Spurrier may be involved it does recap the various series we already knew about along with their respective creative teams which include Hellions, Marauders, X-Factor, S.W.O.R.D., New Mutants, Wolverine, X-Force, Excalibur, and X-Men.
In a press release sent to AIPT Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski said “Reign of X” is now upon us and, “Like Dawn of X and X of Swords before it, REIGN OF X has been meticulously crafted by Jonathan Hickman and all the other uncanny X-writers of our day, and we can’t wait for you to see what they’ve cooked up!”
Cebulski goes on to say to pay very close attention to the montaged image by Mahmud Asrar which features clues. “Everything on this image was included for a reason and will have heart-pounding pay-offs in the near future for our favorite Krakoans. After the dawn comes the reign, and what a reign it will be!”
