Welcome to the 100th edition of the AIPT Comics podcast! As we near the end of 2020 it’s that time of year when buyers guide flood your phone and web browsers. We’re here to add to that steady flow with a special 100th episode edition of the show where Forrest and Dave give their buyers a guide for comics in 2020, but also for themselves!
Before we get to that, we recap the biggest comics news of the week. At the top of our news, ComiXology is offering huge savings on Dawn of X and Marvel events, but only till the 29th! Marvel is also giving away Venom and Absolute Carnage for free and DC Comics is also in the giving spirit as they are giving away a free DC Future State magazine ahead of January 2021 release.
In new series news, DC Comics has the digital-first Challenge of the Super Sons series on the way, Si Spurrier announced X-Men’s next story ‘Reign of X’ coming December 2020, and Greg Capullo returns to ‘Spawn’ with new variant covers over 4 issues which will feature “Plague Spawn” whatever that is. Also, Dark Horse announced Hellboy Universe: The Secret Histories for June 2021. And sadly, Marvel permanently cancels 4 COVID-delayed books.
