Savannah Welch joins ‘Titans’ as Barbara Gordon for season 3

Titans finds its Barbara Gordon.

Last summer during the DC FanDome virtual event, it was announced that the heroes from Titans would be heading to Gotham and come into contact with some of the city’s more recognizable residents including Red Hood, Barbara Gordon, and Dr. Jonathan Crane. At the time, Hood was the only role that was cast with Curran Walters, who plays Jason Todd, taking up the mantle. Now the series has found their Barbara Gordon.

Variety reports that actress, Savannah Welch, will assume the role in the third season. This version of the character has become the Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department. Before working her way up to the position, she roamed the streets as Batgirl until she was shot by the Joker and left paralyzed. When the team arrives in the city, Gordon wrestles with her previous feelings for Dick Grayson while partnering together to clean up Gotham. The casting news has been confirmed by the series’ official twitter account.

There is no return date for Titans but much like the other former DC Universe originals, the show will migrate to HBO Max for its new season.
