AIPT Comics Podcast Episode 107: Guests Chip Zdarsky and Jason Loo discuss their Eisner winner ‘Afterlift’

The comics podcast recaps the week and this week Chip Zdarsky and Jason Loo guest to talk ComiXology Original series Afterlift!

The AIPT Comics podcast has special guests Chip Zdarsky and Jason Loo join the show to discuss Afterlift from ComiXology. The digital-first series is heading to print on February 2, 2021 thanks to a collaboration between ComiXology and Dark Horse Comics. We discuss the Eisner Award winning series, the uniqueness of the series being released in multiple formats, and so much more.

Before we get to the interview, Dave and Forrest recap the biggest news of the week. The week started with April release news like The Old Guard getting a star-studded anthology sequel, Michael Walsh, Kelly Thompson, Chip Zdarsky, Ed Brisson working on The Silver Coin, and Image/Top Cow coming out with Helm Greycastle, Lighthouse, and Home. BOOM! Studios is also releasing The Many Deaths of Laila Starr #1, while “the worlds least sober hero” is coming from Dark Horse.

In big-two news, DC Comics is replacing DC Universe with comics reading app DC Universe Infinite and Marvel solicits for April 2021 are here (Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Black Panther run comes to an end with Black Panther #25, Venom #200 is ‘final’ chapter for Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman, Spider’s Shadow coming soon, Guardians of the Galaxy #13 kicks off Marvel’s new space age). Plus, Marvel Comics is launching ‘Heroes Reborn’ in 2021 and we speculate on what that could be about.
