‘A Quiet Place Part II’ gets new release date

…and this time it’s earlier than the last one!

Last year, A Quiet Place Part II was one of the first of many films to have their release date moved due to the COVID-19 pandemic. First it was pushed to September 4, 2020, then to April 3, 2021.

On Friday, however, director John Krasinski announced that the film’s theatrical released has been moved up to Memorial Day weekend (May 28).

For those folks who are not yet vaccinated or still don’t feel comfortable being in a crowd, the film will be released 45 days later on Paramount’s steaming service, Paramount+.

I was fortunate enough to get my first vaccine dose on Friday (!). If my partner and our families are also able to be vaccinated by Memorial Day weekend, then A Quiet Place Part II will probably be our first trip to the movie theater together since 2019.

It will be interesting to see if others feel the same way as more and more people are able to receive the vaccine over the next two months. Whatever the case, it’s all types of exciting to finally talk about going into a movie theater again — especially for a film many of us have been wanting to see for a while.
