New monster revealed in final ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ trailer

Godzilla vs Kong premieres in theaters and streaming on HBO Max March 31.

The final Godzilla vs. Kong trailer from China has given us our first look at the movie’s third major titan.

A toy leak from last summer already showed that this big fella was going to show up, but the following is still technically a spoiler, so proceed with caution.

Let’s first take a look at the trailer itself. This one features a bit of new footage and a little more exposition on why Godzilla and Kong have decided to throw hands with each other. The real good stuff, however, happens at the 1:16 mark.

That’s right, folks–Mechagodzilla is finally here! We don’t get a great look at the mechanical kaiju, but it’s more than enough to create a gif that I’ve looped an unhealthy number of times.

MechaGodzilla

We still don’t know who’s behind Mechagodzilla’s creation or how Godzilla and Kong will end up fighting him, but the answer to those questions (along with a substantial amount of kaiju fisticuffs) are less than a week away.

Godzilla vs Kong premieres in theaters and streaming on HBO Max March 31.
