Late last night, NECA revealed the first figure in their upcoming toy line based on the beloved ’90s animated series Gargoyles. Feast your eyes upon Goliath!
Before we dig into things, here’s NECA’s official statement about the 7″ Scale Ultimate Goliath figure:

The time of the Gargoyles has come again! Arguably the best gothic cartoon of the 1990s, Gargoyles followed an ancient clan of gargoyles transported to modern-day Manhattan when their Scottish castle is relocated.
Leader Goliath joins the Ultimate line with an appropriately large 8″ action figure, with a wingspan of 16 inches! The figure features full articulation, including on wings and tail, and comes with plenty of accessories: wings, jalapeño pepper, book, and interchangeable heads and hands.
Comes in display-friendly window box packaging with opening flap.
Despite having the cartoon series recommended to me by countless people, I still haven’t gotten around to watching it. I have no attachment to the show or characters whatsoever…and this figure looks so good that I still might get it.
Also, in case you were wondering about the jalapeño pepper accessory, it’s apparently a reference to a time Goliath tried one. The experience inspired him to make “jalapeño” a substitute swear word.
NECA has also revealed in a tweet today that there are five other figures completed and more in development for the Gargoyles line. If they look anywhere near as good as Goliath, then I might have to start watching the show earlier than planned to justify collecting a new toyline.
