Following Monday’s release of the trailer for Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Hasbro has released official photos of their upcoming wave of Marvel Legends figures featuring character from the film. Although no preorder pages have shown up yet, the wave is expected to arrive this fall with all figures retailing for $22.99.
Rektangular already leaked the entire wave a few weeks ago, including packaged shots of the Contest of Champions Captain America, A.I. Tony Stark, and the Mr. Hyde Build-A-Figure. Since Mr. Hyde is also likely a member of Hasbro’s legal department, I won’t post the pictures, but you can check them at the links preceding links. You can also check out some posed shots of Cap and Tony from this wave here.
In the meantime, let’s check out the official photos of what Hasbro revealed today…including one very strange surprise.
Shang-Chi
I absolutely love the look of Shang-Chi’s MCU costume and the face is a decent likeness of actor Simu Liu. I do wish he came with some effect accessories, though.
Wenwu (aka The Mandarian)
This, on the other hand, is what I was hoping for along with an even better movie costume. Also, it’s great that we’re actually getting a true/badass version of the Mandarian instead of what we saw in Iron Man 3.
Xialing
Xialing is Shang-Chi’s brother. Her comic counterpart is Zheng Bao Yu, who I know next to nothing about. Aside from the the molded plastic rope weapon, however, this is a pretty cool looking figure.
Death Dealer
This figure might be my favorite of the entire wave. I don’t know much about Death Dealer, but I definitely like his MCU look better than the one he first sported in the comics.
Katy
First off, the figure is a Target exclusive, so good luck trying to snag this one when it’s posted online.
As far as the character of Katy is concerned, her look here is vastly different from what we saw in the trailer. I’m guessing there’s much more to her than the description on the box, which simply describes Katy as Shang-Chi’s “oldest friend.”
As far as the furry crackless butt with wings is concerned, I got nothing. A Lego set leak from a February identifies the creature as Morris, which makes it oddly adorable for some reason.
Guess we’ll have to wait until Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings premieres on September 3 (or a more revealing trailer) to find out more.
