Heavy Metal Entertainment to launch ‘Heavy Metal Magazine: The Podcast’

Brendan Columbus and Lea Palmieri set to host new biweekly ‘Heavy Metal Magazine: The Podcast’, starting April 28.

Today, Heavy Metal Entertainment has announced the launch of a new podcast next week adding to the Heavy Metal Podcast Network. The debut podcast, Heavy Metal Magazine: The Podcast will premiere its first episode on April 28th. Hosted by Brendan Columbus and Lea Palmieri the podcast will air twice a month critiquing and celebrating Heavy Metal Magazine and its comics. The show will tackle stories new and old as well as lead interviews with creators.

“I am so excited to explore the unique and magical world of Heavy Metal Magazine and work with such a fun and creative group of people. Even though I’m pretty sure my co-host Brendan will take us on many detours during this adventure, I also know we’ll have plenty of laughs along the way,” said Palmieri in a press release sent to AIPT.

“Getting to be a part of a podcast about my favorite magazine of all time is already an absolute dream,” Columbus added. “This is beyond exciting and I’m so pumped to share the wild madness of Heavy Metal with the entire world.”

Heavy Metal Entertainment launching podcast network

This podcast is joining multiple podcasts recently launched including the mental health podcast I Hate Myself by Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman, Geoff Boucher’s Mindspace featuring conversations between journalist Geoff Boucher and esteemed comics creators like Marc Guggenheim, Liam Sharp, and Steve Niles, as well as stars like Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), acclaimed director Julie Taymor (Frida, Broadway’s The Lion King), and MCU “Agent Coulson” actor Clark Gregg (The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).

The Heavy Metal Podcast Network recently launched Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman’s mental health podcast I Hate Myself, which features in-depth interviews with celebrities and creative talents, such as Seth Green and Emma Chamberlain, about leading successful careers while living with depression and anxiety. The network is also home to Geoff Boucher’s Mindspace, featuring conversations between award-winning journalist Geoff Boucher and some of the biggest names in entertainment, including legendary actor Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), acclaimed director Julie Taymor (Frida, Broadway’s The Lion King), and MCU “Agent Coulson” actor Clark Gregg (The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).

The network also features scripted podcasts like the anthology series WonderWerk which expands on universes first seen on the pages of Heavy Metal Magazine and Putting the Science in Science Fiction, a podcast hosted by CEO Matthew Medney, aerospace engineer John Connelly, and Columbia Space Center’s Benjamin Dickow that explores where fiction and science collide.

Heavy Metal Magazine: The Podcast: Twice a month, hosts Lea Palmieri and Brendan Columbus critique and celebrate all things Heavy Metal, diving into the current issue of Heavy Metal Magazine.
