‘Top Chef’ season 18 Power Rankings: Week 4

This week on Top Chef, the competitors pick their ingredients right off the tree to make a savory dish featuring fruit.

Top Chef is a highly stressful competition with a very sink or swim atmosphere. For the most part, we’ve been seeing the same faces finish in both the top and the bottom in the past few weeks and episode four continues the trend.

In a quickfire challenge sponsored by Campbell’s Soup, the chefs had to create a dish that evokes a fond food memory but they had to elevate it using a canned soup provided by the ubiquitous packaged food company. For the elimination, they took a field trip out to the Hood River Fruit Loop where they picked their ingredients right off the tree to make a savory dish highlighting the fresh produce they just harvested. Then for an added challenge, they couldn’t use any vegetables.

After flirting with a win with several top finishes, Gabe finally breaks through to earn his first elimination victory. We also say good bye to another talented competitor. See how this week’s results affected the Power Rankings.
