Ahead of its release on June 2nd, Marvel has shared Phil Jimenez’s Black Cat #7 variant cover. Marvel already showed off a few last month as there will be a series of Jimenez covers released throughout the month.
“I’m always blown away at how different things are now in comics when it comes to LGBTQ+ representation than when I started, and Marvel’s dedication to that inclusion,” Jimenez said in a statement sent to AIPT. “As an (ahem!) older gay creator, I’m always thrilled by the opportunity to draw iconic LGBTQ+ characters from Marvel’s past and present, and grateful to contribute to Marvel’s future: one that truly represents the world — and the wonderful diversity of humanity — right outside your window.”

New York, NY— May 6 2021 — This June, Marvel Comics will commemorate Pride Month this year with a new series of stunning variant covers by legendary artist Phil Jimenez! These PRIDE MONTH VARIANT COVERS will spotlight Marvel’s growing LGBTQ+ representation, and when first announced in March, fans got to see Jimenez’s incredible depictions of Iceman, Daken, America Chavez, and Northstar. Now check out another popular hero, Black Cat in a stunning cover that will proudly adorn the cover of BLACK CAT #7, an upcoming issue of Jed MacKay’s hit ongoing run.
