And we’re back to your weekly recap of the week on the AIPT Comics podcast! This week, comics creator Jeff Smith joins the show to discuss his new Kickstarter Tuki. We dig into the series, which is already fully funded with 17 days to go, what the status is of his Bone Netflix show and the long road to get to streaming, how self-publishing has changed, and more!

Before the interview, we recap the biggest news of the week. We start the news by discussing the passing of artist and writer Jesse Hamm. It was a shock and a great loss to the industry.

In Image Comics news, the publisher signaled The Department of Truth is on the hunt for Bigfoot and Regina King is set to direct an adaptation of Bitter RootRob Liefeld shocked the world as he’s leaving Mighty Crusaders due to a variant cover spoiler while The Nice House on the Lake #1 sells more issues than TDoT!

In Marvel Comics news, the publisher unveiled a five-part series X-Men: The Trial of Magneto, which revealed a new superhero named Somnus, John Romita Jr. and Dan Slott are teaming up for Fantastic Four 60th anniversary issue, Marvel is celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with Marvel’s Voices: Identity and they teased the conclusion to ‘Infinite Destinies’ out August 2021.
