‘The Department of Truth’ #1 sells out just days before its 10th issue hits comic book stands.

Image Comics has revealed The Department of Truth #1 is headed back for a sixth printing. Having sold over 100,000 copies on its first printing, this is a series that can’t stop selling! The sixth printing will be available in comic book shops on July 28th, 2021. The series is by writer James Tynion IV (Batman, Something is Killing the Children) and artist Martin Simmonds (Dying Is Easy) with letters by Aditya Bidikar and edited by Steve Foxe.

The next issue, The Department of Truth #10, will be released in comic book shops next week on June 30th. Learn all about that and the start of a two-part bigfoot story.

PORTLAND, Ore. 06/24/2021 — After repeated sell-outs at the distributor level, Image Comics will send the Eisner Award nominated The Department of Truth #1 by James Tynion IV (Batman, Something is Killing the Children) and Martin Simmonds (Dying Is Easy) back to print for a sixth and final printing.

Upon its launch, The Department of Truth sold over 100K copies—an impressive number which increased over time with word-of-mouth enthusiasm, multiple reprints, industry praise, and critical acclaim from nearly every major outlet from Entertainment Weekly to Forbes.

News of The Department of Truth having been picked up by Sister—best known for producing HBO’s Chernobyl—only served to further heighten awareness for the popular series.
