Marvel Legends: Hasbro unveils exclusive Elvis M.O.D.O.K. figure for PulseCon 2021

…yeah, we didn’t see this one coming, either.

On Friday, Hasbro revealed another exclusive Marvel Legends figure for this fall’s PulseCon 2021. Unlike the animated/retro Venom revealed on Thursday, it’s a safe bet that no one (including us) saw this one ever getting made.

Feast your eyes upon the Marvel Legends M.O.D.O.K. World Domination Tour Collection, featuring the character unofficially known as Elvis M.O.D.O.K.

The other guy is a character known as The Captain, but we’ll get to him in a bit. First, we absolutely have to discuss what might be the most bizarre Marvel Legends figure ever produced.

While I don’t claim to be a M.O.D.O.K. aficionado, I still have enough background knowledge of the character to laugh at most of the deep cut Marvel jokes from the first season of his Hulu series. This variation, however, is completely foreign to me.

Marvel Toy News (a site all Marvel Legends collectors should have bookmarked) did about as good as anyone could providing a brief explanation of the character’s origins, but they’re still pretty confusing. All you “need” to know is that a group of these fellas were created by something called the Beyond Corporation and subsequently defeated by a group called the Nextwave Squad.

So yeah…still completely over my head. If you’re a M.O.D.O.K. and/or Elvis fan, however, then the figure is an absolutely must buy.

As for The Captain, he’s an obscure member of Nextwave, a laughably redundent designation. I’m sure the guy has some fans out there, but he’ll likely end up as custom fodder for most folks.

Both figures will come packed in a stylized case that even looks cool/worth saving to an opener like me.

While no release date has been announced yet, the set is priced at $73.99 and will be available from Hasbro Pulse at some point this fall.

If there was ever an action figure set that epitomized what toy exclusives are and why they exist, it’s this one. That being said, I might not be able to resist having Elvis M.O.D.O.K. on my desk once it becomes available.
