DC Comics has got its next Batman writer and it’s Josh Williamson. Just sixteen days ago James Tynion IV revealed November would be his last Batman title, which shocked many who thought he was just getting started on the series. Williamson revealed the news on his private Twitter account earlier today that Batman #118 will be his first issue.
“As Batman leaves Gotham, I’m starting a new storyline called ‘ABYSS’ drawn by the awesome Jorge Molina,” Williamson said adding, “We’re honoring the plan that the other books in the bat-line are doing while telling a brand-new story for Bruce Wayne as Batman in the DCU.” Williamson and Molina is color artist Tomeu Morey.
Williamson also teased a new villain was being introduced in January’s Batman #119 called Abyss.

Williamson promised more Batman info will be on the way closer to the end of Fear State in December, but also that there are other big announcements coming for the end of 2021 and into 2022. He then teased this gif:

AND I have other BIG announcements coming soon that aren't ready YET…
The end of 2021 and 2022 are going to be a very busy and wild ride.

One can assume this means Damian Wayne will be joining Batman by his side once again very soon.
