Bryan Danielson signs with All Elite Wrestling

The American Dragon is All Elite!

After months of speculation, 5-time WWE World Champion Bryan Danielson is All Elite!

At the end of Sunday’s AEW All Out pay-per-view, the former Daniel Bryan made his return to pro wrestling by helping Christian Cage and the Jurassic Express fend off the Elite (and fellow debutant Adam Cole). With the same hairstyle as Brock Lesnar and a trap remix of “Flight of the Valkyries” in tow, Danielson has already started his AEW career with a few changes and a few callbacks to the past.

Danielson made his final appearance for WWE earlier this year on the April 30, 2021, edition of SmackDown, where he lost a championship vs career match against WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. This came after Bryan Danielson (and Edge) lost to Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 37 Night 2, also in April. This makes Danielson the first person to perform in a WrestleMania main event the same year he appears in AEW.

Danielson’s debut is steeped in rumors and backstage reports, ranging from his reported signing around the time that CM Punk rumors began earlier this summer to reports that a major factor in Danielson leaving WWE was so that he could wrestle opponents from New Japan.

With Danielson debuting on the same night as Minoru Suzuki and Satoshi Kojima, plus closing the show with AEW Champion Kenny Omega and the aforementioned Adam Cole, it appears that Bryan Danielson is a lot closer to fulfilling dream matches for himself and for the fans.
