AfterShock Comics announces New York Comic Con plans

Aftershock Comics has big plans for this year’s New York Comic Con.

Aftershock Comics has announced their plans for this year’s New York Comic Con, including a panel featuring acclaimed AfterShock creators; exclusive, never-before-seen content and offers; special edition merchandise and more.

“AfterShock heads back to NYCC after a year away from our friends and fans due to the pandemic – and we can’t be more excited!” said Mike Marts, AfterShock’s Editor-in-Chief. “With the recent announcement of our 100th title we’ve come a long way over the past six years, and it’s all due to fan interest and support. The whole team will be back in action this year for a celebration of creativity and fan appreciation that’s been long overdue. We’re anticipating this year’s NYCC will be our best one yet.”

Los Angeles, CA (September 23, 2021)—AfterShock Comics, prolific publisher of the most talked about titles of the past six years, including BUNNY MASK, WE LIVE, ANIMOSITY, A WALK THROUGH HELL, DARK ARK and BABYTEETH, returns to New York Comic Con (NYCC) October 7 – 10 for four action-packed days of fan engagement activities, including a panel featuring acclaimed AfterShock creators; exclusive, never-before-seen content and offers; special edition merch and much more.

Setting up shop at Booth #2337, AfterShock will go big this year with several exciting opportunities available to AfterShock’s army of dangerous readers, including exclusive variants of some of AfterShock’s most talked about recent titles created specifically for NYCC, including WE LIVE #1 with cover by XX; CHICKEN DEVIL #1 with cover by Dan Panosian; AFTERDARK with cover by Michael Gaydos; and MANIAC OF NEW YORK: VOLUME ONE with cover by Andrea Mutti.

AfterShock will also be hosting a number of rock star talent signings at our biggest booth ever, Booth #2337, including creators such as:

  • Stephanie Phillips (NUCLEAR FAMILY, RED ATLANTIS): Schedule TBD

  • Brian Buccellato (CHICKEN DEVIL): Friday-Sunday, October 8-10, 3pm
  • Mark Sable (MISKATONIC, WAR ON TERROR: GODKILLERS): Friday-Saturday, October 8-9, 4pm
  • Joe Pruett, (AfterShock Publisher, BLACK-EYED KIDS, AFTERDARK): Appearing every day

On Sunday, October 10, from 1:30pm – 2:30pm in Room 406.3, AfterShock Comics presents a panel featuring some of the biggest writers in comics previewing creator-owned projects on the way from AfterShock and its new YA imprint, Seismic Press. In a conversation hosted by Editor-in-Chief Mike Marts, attendees will get the low-down on upcoming AfterShock projects from top creators Frank Tieri, Stephanie Phillips, Andrea Mutti among others listed above.

Fans will also have a rare opportunity to take home a limited edition, one-of-a-kind AfterShock Mystery Box, a value of close to $200, for only $75. Contents may include graded comics, signed comics, rare variants, complete series runs and surprise items every comic enthusiast will enjoy.

AfterShock Comics team members in attendance will include Editor-in-Chief Mike Marts; Publisher/Chief Creative Officer Joe Pruett; President Lee Kramer; Managing Editor Christina Harrington; SVP Sales & Marketing Steve Rotterdam; Senior Retailer Relations Manager RuthAnn Thompson; Senior Retail Sales Development Manager Marc Hammond, Associate Editor Teddy Leo, and Publishing Assistant Sarah Pruett, in addition to some of the most exciting creative stars in the comics industry.
