Warner Bros. has revealed the official synopsis for Matrix Resurrections, the fourth film in the franchise. Revealed on their awards page, the synopsis leans heavily into choice being a major factor in ever leaving The Matrix, which may connect to the trailer’s heavy connection to Thomas Anderson getting comfortable in normal life.

Matrix Resurrections is set to release on December 22nd, 2021. Written and directed by Lana Wachowski, the new film reunites original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in the iconic roles they made famous, Neo and Trinity.
