First off, don’t panic–Spider-Man: No Way Home is (at least for the moment) sticking with its current release date of December 17, 2021. Unfortunately, Deadline reported on Monday that the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is doing yet another delay/domino shift into 2022 and beyond.
Here’s what we’ve got so far:
- Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness moves from March 25, 2022 to May 6, 2022.
- Thor: Love and Thunder moves from May 6, 2022 from to July 8, 2022.
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movies from July 8, 2022 to November 11, 2022 (boo).
- The Marvels moves from November 11, 2022 to February 17, 2023 (BOO!).
- Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania moves from February 17, 2023 to July 8, 2023 (BOOOOOO!).
All of this release date jostling has also moved the fifth Indiana Jones film from July 29, 2022 to June 30, 2023…which I’d honestly lost interest in, but that’s still annoying.
Thankfully, James Gunn assured fans via Twitter that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is on schedule and will retain its original release date of May 5, 2023

Whiny theatrics aside, this isn’t too surprising considering how much the COVID-19 pandemic affected the film industry. There’s also plenty of new content rolling in to keep us entertained while these films take the time they need to get made the right way…
…but seriously, can we please make sure the release date for Spider-Man: No Way Home stays where it is?
