We’ve got an interesting mix for our Channel Surfing TV picks this week.

We’ve got an interesting mix for our Channel Surfing TV picks this week. Find out the work under appreciated teachers put in educating our future in Abbott Elementary. See a different take on the post-apocalyptic world where men were killed off by a plague in Creamerie. Then, prepare for more medieval hijinks in the new season of Crossing Swords.

Teachin’ Ain’t Easy

There has been a fair share of mockumentary sitcoms to have aired on television. Some have even grown to be much beloved including The Office, Parks and Recreations, and Modern Family to today’s What We Do in the Shadows. Perhaps the next hit to come from the genre is Abbott Elementary.

The series follows a group of passionate teachers at a Philadelphia public school. Their love of educating helps them overlook the hardships they endure as they shape the young minds of their students. You might need a sense of humor considering the lack of resources and the odds stacked against them. It is created by and stars comedian, Quinta Brunson.

Abbott Elementary will have a special premiere this Tuesday, December 7, on ABC.

Bobby: The Last Man

This past fall, Y: The Last Man imagined a world where the male population was decimated by a mysterious cataclysmic event. The Kiwis take a crack at a similar story in the New Zealand import, Creamerie.

In this world, 99% of men are gone and the survivors were sent to The Facility to help protect them but didn’t survive. At least that was the story. However, when three women who run a dairy farm accidentally run over the last human male, his introduction risks upsetting the current female led society.

Creamerie will begin streaming this Thursday, December 9, on Hulu.

Pursuing Knighthood

Crossing Swords is a raunchy fantasy stop-motion animated series from the same studio behind Robot Chicken and Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. We considered the first season “[a] fun medieval escape that allows viewers to unwind and take a break from the seriousness of the current real world.” Now it’s back for its sophomore season.

The new episodes will represent Patrick’s next chapter in his ascent from miserable squire into full fledged knight. He will embark on more adventures where he encounters new allies and confronts new enemies. All the while, the previous regime lurks in the background hoping to regain his position and usurp the throne from Patrick’s king, King Merriman.

Season two of Crossing Swords will premiere Friday, December 10, on Hulu.
