In a surprise move, Guerrilla Games announced their next game tonight: Horizon Call of the Mountain coming exclusively to Sony’s next-gen PlayStation VR hardware.
The short teaser trailer doesn’t give too many details, and only a short 20-second snippet of game footage. The player character and another character are travelling downstream in a boat when a tallneck crosses their path. It looks beautiful, to say the least.
Horizon Call of the Mountain was built from the ground up for Sony’s next-gen VR hardware. “It’s been designed to push gameplay, technology, and hardware innovation,” Jan-Bart Van Beek, a studio director at Guerrilla, said in the trailer. “It truly shows what’s possible with the hardware’s best-in-class visual experience and brand new controllers.” No release window was given for the game
While Horizon Call of the Mountain may be some time away, Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, releases February 18th for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
