Today during their PS5 reveal event Sony Interactive Entertain and Guerrilla Games announced — Horizon: Forbidden West — the sequel to Guerrilla Games’ critically-acclaimed 2017 RPG action-adventure game Horizon Zero Dawn. Watch the trailer below.
The trailer reveals a major twist that turns the story from the first game on its head, organic creatures are once again alive in the world, after not having been seen for thousands of years. But something sinister is threatening to wipe them from the face of the planet and only Aloy can save the animals and humanity along with them. Our hero will have to venture to far off lands never been seen by her or the tribe she hails from.
Horizon: Forbidden West introduces Aloy to new never before seen robots, new environments, and new equipment, armor, and weapons. During the trailer we witness her using scuba equipment for the first time as she swims in a tropical paradise. As the trailer takes Aloy through a variety of new locations and ruins, the decayed remains of what appears to be the Golden Gate Bridge can also been glimpsed.
Sony also revealed the first ever look at the PS5 console itself today, and announced a new addition to the Ratchet & Clank franchise, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, as well as a new Spider-Man game, dubbed Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
