Ahead of their upcoming livestream this Wednesday, the Hasbro Star Wars team kicked things off with some big early reveals. Both of these are great, although one has a problem that we’ve previously delved into a bit.
Black Series Dark Trooper
On one hand, this is an absolutely gorgeous figure. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of The Mandalorian, you could proudly display this guy on your Star Wars shelf.
Unfortunately, the Black Series Dark Trooper also carries an inflated $33.99 price tag. You could make an argument that the tooling for this figure helps justify the cost, but that doesn’t change the fact that the markup will still make a lot of collectors decide to pass–especially for army building.
If you want to order one, however, the Dark Trooper will be available for to preorder on Tuesday at 1:00 PM EST from your preferred online retailers. You’ll have to wait for a bit to get your hands on it, though–the figure isn’t expected to show up in mailboxes or on store shelves until Spring 2023.
Vintage Collection Din Djarin (Morak)
This figure is based on Din Djarin’s appearance in the penultimate episode of The Mandalorian‘s second season. It’s got a pretty good facial likeness, a great sculpt, really nice paint work. It’s also sure to be a hit with fans of The Mandalorian and customizers alike.
The figure is also a buck more expensive than the last few standard Vintage Collection releases, but creeping inflation is much easier to accept/justify than $10+ price hikes.
If you want to add the Morak version of Din Djarin to your collection, it will be available for preorder on Tuesday at 1:00 PM EST from your preferred online retailers. The figure is expected to show up in mailboxes and on store shelves in Fall 2022.
