Super-powered assassins must battle an ancient mystical force intent on taking over the world in Fistful of Vengeance. Employees experience a different form of work/life balance in Severance. Then, follow even more exploits of a talented comedienne during the 1960s in The Magnificent Mrs. Maisel.

A Revenge Mission

Fistful of Vengeance is a slight cheat since it’s technically a movie but its origins can be traced back to television. It is a follow-up to the Netflix series, Wu Assassins, with the team reuniting to confront another threat. However, if you haven’t watched the show, don’t fret because the film is a standalone where viewers can jump right into the story.

Kai, Lu Xin, and Tommy embark on an adventure from San Francisco’s Chinatown all the way to Bangkok to avenge the death of one of their own. During their journey, they discover their enemy is an ancient threat with superhuman abilities and ambitions of conquering the world. Expect some high-octane action intensity in this martial arts flick.

Fistful of Vengeance debuts this Thursday, February 17, on Netflix.

Dedication to the Company

Imagine if you could keep your work strictly in the office and made sure your private life stayed at home. In the upcoming show, Severance, the company of Lumen Industries has found a solution. Some of their employees have undergone the titular program that surgically separates memories between professional and personal lives.

Mark Scout is one of the enrollees and he soon finds himself investigating the mystery centered around the program, which is an experiment in work-life balance. His discoveries lead him to question the true nature of his job at Lumen Industries as well as himself. Adam Scott is in the lead role of the series from director and executive producer Ben Stiller and creator Dan Erickson.

The first two episodes of Severance will be made available starting Friday, February 18, on Apple TV+.

Change is in the Air

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, follows its lead character, Midge, as she pursues a career as a stand-up comedian in the late 1950s and early 1960s all while balancing her familial drama. When we last left her, an opening set at the Apollo Theater almost reveals personal information about the headliner. As a result, Midge is kicked off of the tour losing her first big break.

In the new season, Mrs. Maisel looks to hone her craft by finding gigs that grant her complete creative freedom and control. Although this new dedication to her career causes friction with the people closest to her. Expect new guest stars to show up including John Waters and Gilmore Girls alums Kelly Bishop and Milo Ventimiglia.

The season four premiere of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is Friday, February 18, on Prime Video.
