Hasbro announces exclusive Star Wars toys for Walmart Collector Con

On Wednesday, Hasbro announced multiple new figures for their 3.75″ scale Star Wars: Vintage Collection toyline. While this would normally be cause for celebration, it was also revealed that every figure will be a Walmart exclusive for the company’s annual Pre Order Wheel of Death Collector Con event, which will take place March 24-25.

Yeah…I’m not happy about it either.

For now, however, let’s try to focus on the positive and check out what will be available. All of the following Vintage Collection items will retail for $14.99 and are expected to arrive this fall. Preorders will (ALLEGEDLY) open at some point on March 24.

Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2)

I don’t need another one, but it’s still always good to see collectors get a chance to get this little guy if they still need him–especially the A New Hope version.

Imperial Gunner

This new version looks so nice that I’m almost tempted to replace my older ones with it. Then I think about the blood pressure spike that accompanies the Walmart preorder process and quickly put the thought out of my head.

Bespin Security Guard (Isdam Edian)

I’ve never felt the need for a Bespin display, but if I did, this would be a definite purchase.

Same with this one.

I know a lot of folks are bothered by the torso joint, but I can live with it–especially considering how great the facial portraits look.

Stormtrooper

One of the best figures of one of the best army builders of all time is going to sold exclusively through a store that can’t handle preorders or keeping product on the shelves.

Awesome.

Thankfully, two items for the 6″ Scale Black Series were also revealed for its Gaming Greats subline. Both figures will be sold exclusively through GameStop and retail for $27.99. They’re currently available for preorder (links in the titles) with an expected arrival in Spring of 2023.

13th Battalion Trooper

The primary clone trooper seen in Jedi: Fallen Order. Very cool.

Republic Commando RC 11-40

Another member of Delta Squad enters the Black Series line–and he looks fantastic!
