At any convention, Funko can be one of the busiest vendors with their highly sought-after collectibles. Now that shows are starting up again, the company has taken a different approach with their booths. Beginning with last year’s Emerald City Comic Con, they started incorporating a theme to build around.
Considering that WonderCon takes place in Southern California, they thought it would be fitting to throw a beach bash. The booth was lavishly decorated with several photo opportunities. Those waiting in line were entertained with a live DJ, giveaways, and regular hula dancing performances.
Even the exclusives got in on the beach vibes. Boastful Thor loves to grill while drinking a few beers.
The time I happened to be hovering around the Funko booth, they even had a special guest. Fluffy himself, Gabriel Iglesias, stopped by. He has been immortalized with his very own Funko POP! and some lucky people walked away with signed figures of the comedian.
Fortunately, if you didn’t make it out to WonderCon, the exclusives are available to purchase online. Depending on which one you’re looking for, you can find them at Funko Web, Amazon, Hot Topic, and Target. Also, to tease the Funko Fun Day during SDCC, they revealed the theme would be “blacklight.” Let’s hope things stay the course and we can experience both this summer.
