Hasbro’s Star Wars team already revealed a bunch of new products yesterday, but one more managed to make its debut last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
During Ewan McGregor’s interview with Mike Birbiglia (filling in for Kimmel while he recovers from COVID-19), the Obi-Wan Kenobi star held up an early production sample of a Star Wars: Black Series figure bearing his likeness from the upcoming Disney+ series.
The whole interview is a lot of fun and definitely worth watching in its entirety. For those strictly here for the toy content, however, McGregor begins discussing it around the 7:23 mark. Despite his clear enthusiasm for the “doll,” he does take a hilarious dig at the faceprinting techology’s failure to capture his current likeness.
Hasbro also released some official photos of the figure last night. At first glance, I think Mr. McGregor’s criticism was a bit harsh, but it might’ve just been due to the production sample he got — especially since the actual figure isn’t slated to hit stores until Spring 2023.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) will retail for $24.99. It will be available for preorder on Wednesday, May 11 at 1:00 PM EDT from most major retailers.
