The Overlook Film Festival has added another World Premiere to its already impressive slate. Shaky Shivers is a horror comedy that is a spoof of the monster movies of the 1980s. This film is added to a list that includes Deadstream and Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla. For those who are worried the Fest may be leaning too much into comedy, there will also be screenings of Sundance Film Festival favorite Resurrection and Ana Lily Amirpour’s new movie Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon.
The Overlook is about more than films, however. FANGORIA’s THE KINGCAST has spent years breaking down Stephen King’s large library. The duo will be screening one of the horror icon’s (rightfully) overlooked movies. There will also be a full blown Halloween part and a horror trivia contest presented by Shudder. And if that is not enough, there will also be immersive games for everyone to enjoy.
Film festivals were hit really hard by the pandemic. Many genre fests were hit particularly hard since they tend to be smaller affairs. Thankfully, the horror community is strong, and The Overlook will be back to present its unique brand of terror to fans.
The Overlook Film Festival takes place from June 2 – June 5, 2022. The full list of events and films and tickets to purchase can be found HERE.
