DC Comics announces multiple Batman ‘One Bad Day’ OGN’s for 2022

Batman’s going to have ‘One Bad Day’ with Riddler, Penguin, and Two-Face too.

DC Comics has been on a tear on their Batman Twitter account revealing new Batman original graphic novels set for release later this week. Given the sheer talent behind these graphic novels, we’re in for a real treat as each month appears to feature a different creative team.

First up is August’s Batman One Bad Day: The Riddler by Tom King, Mitch Gerads. More on that here.

That’s followed by September’s Batman One Bad Day: Two-Face by Mariko Tamaki, Javier Fernandez, and Jordie Bellaire. Then in October, Batman One Bad Day: The Penguin by John Ridley, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Cam Smith, and Arif Prianto will hit stores. Following that is Batman One Bad Day: Mr. Freeze by Gerry Duggan and Matteo Scalera out in November. Then in December, G Willow Wilson and Jamie McKelvie join forces on Batman One Bad Day: Catwoman. Following that, in January 2023, Batman One Bad Day: Bane by Josh Williamson and Howard Porter will be released. Then in February 2023, Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, and Xermanico team up for a one-shot on Batman One Bad Day: Clayface. Finally, in March Tom Taylor and Ivan Reis will focus their “One Bad Day” on Ra’s al Ghul!

If you’re noticing a pattern, that’s because there’s meant to be one. It appears closing out 2022, Batman is going to have one really bad day revolving around a different villain each month.

Here’s a rundown of what we know about each series so far.

The Riddler: Edward Nygma is meticulous… until one day he suddenly starts killing at random. Batman must race to figure out the motivation behind The Riddler’s spree!

Two-Face: Harvey Dent is back, but is he here to save Gotham City? Head or Tails, Batman can’t win when it comes to Two-Face!

Penguin: When The Penguin’s criminal empire is stolen by a former associate, Batman faces both Oswald and The Umbrella Man on the burning streets of Gotham!

Mr. Freeze: Save your sympathies, Batman and Robin! Years ago, Gotham City experienced a winter so icy that Mr. Freeze could live without his containment suit. 🌨

Catwoman: A brooch Selina Kyle’s mother once pawned for pennies is now part of a high-bid auction, and Catwoman will steal it back at any cost.

Bane: The man who broke the Bat!

Clayface: Gotham’s stars don’t shine as bright as the ones in Hollywood. Batman chases Basil Karlo, aka Clayface, to L.A. where the villain is killing his way to fame.

Ra’s al Ghul: You know his name, the Bat will know his wrath.
